Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Isn't it funny how Sir Charles always seems to call out those guys who are dominating the press coverage. I recall him bad mouthing Brett Favre a few months back as well. Maybe Charles should take his own advice.

Charles Barkley is paid to talk, unlike the other people mentioned.  I enjoy listening to him on almost any subject, not just basketball.

I had been very pleased at how well LeBron has handled the fame and money at such a young age, but now it seems to be going to his head.    Since he's a home-town guy, the Cavs fans have taken him into their hearts, and he would be a fool to throw that away.

As a Black American, it amazes me that Black men are pilloried in the media for being thugs, irresponsible, you name it. Yet that same media props up this fat fool named Barkley. He curses incessantly on national television, has a negative opinion about everybody, spat on a fan and threw  a person through a plate glass window.  Why not give other current and former players a chance to opine; such as some of those who have actually won a championship. Barkley is nothing but a modern day step-and-fetchit with money. Bring on Julius, Kareem, Bird, Earl and many of the others who can match a noun and a verb.

I agree with you sir.  Barkley is a big mouth who still feels he is in the sport that the media parades because he offers the kind of hateism and negativism that brings a people down.

Barkley is the last person who should be mouthing off.  He was a bully and a whiner on the court.  Whoever hired him for tv should be fired too.

Who the hell is Charlie Barkley, to be chastising anybody?  As one of his fans from Akron, I'm just thankful he's been such a good guy, especially considering his young age and that he's shown sportsmanship, power and grace for the Cavs.  Most of us will wish him well whatever he does--he deserves to do what Charlie or anybody else would do, given the choices in front of him.

Cleveland is a contender!  Knicks?  Well, they're pretty worthless right now and not going anywhere now or soon after 2010.

Regardless of what Big Mouth Chaz has to say, LeBron, I'm not sure why he's spouting off about 2 years from now, WHEN, he is with a contender, nonetheless said, Cav's management HAS failed to surround him with at least one great sidekick, like Michael had Scotty.  Get busy or lose him.  Just to hard to believe he's talking Knicks.  Sorry, but they will not be around for some time.  LeBron, just keep being the stud you are, focus on getting even better than you are, if that's possible!  He's still young, remember!

Tee Ferguson is right on the mark. The number of functional illiterates that are paraded in front of us is laughable. The sad part is that they all think they are newsworthy. I say we have the Chairman of the Department of Neurosciences at Johns Hopkins or Vanderbilt or Stanford replace Barkley as one of the hosts. Someone who has accomplished something meaningful in life. Now there's a concept. Have someone speaking who has something literate to say.

I find it laughable that people take sides in a meaningless argument like this one, two guys famous solely because they play a sport, lauded for playing a game invented by a PE teacher who needed something for his kids to do in the winter. Please, for the good of the country, heck, the world, will we as a society stop worshiping these idiots and give some of this energy to our families and our communities so we won't continue to raise men like these two! I have coached high school sports for fifteen years and I cannot stand to see where today's sports stars and fans are steering what once was fun and games. Sheesh!

I don't often agree with Charles Barkley; but, he is absolutely right this time. It is sad that Lebron would even pretend to be interested in going to New York. He is toying with Cleveland and the city does not seserve that. He is from Akron and playing for Cleveland near his hometown. The city has treated him like a king. He is showing absolute disrespect to Cleveland fans. I guess that money is more important than honor to a lot of today's players. If Lebron leaves Cleveland for New York he truly will be the equivalent of a traitor. This is not the same as most athletes looking for a good deal, as he already has everything that he needs. Give your head a shake Lebron and understand that you already have the best situation possible.

first of all, i think lebron is paying much due respect to cleveland by playing at 100% level day in and day out, entertaining the home crowd. ultimately, the man aims to win, and if cavs management could not provide the proper supporting cast to form a more competitive team (mo is a good addition), then the man has a right to leave. it's a career decision, to be one of the greats. you can't call that being a traitor. on the flipside, you must remember that the nba is also just business, and lebron is playing his cards right. because of his media talk, offers will pour in come 2010 and he's doing a pretty good job encouraging the bids when they come. i think charles is just jealous because he was in the same exact position during his time, being a superstar, but never ever won a championship.

This argument is true drivel.  Haven't you all figured out it is designed to get more readership of the website = $$$$.  Who cares if LeBron wants $40 mil a year for 10 years?  Who cares if King Charles has something to say - he ALWAYS does!  They are entertainment.  Nothing less but Nothing more!  Why are sports fans so willing to be used?

They are both right.  Charles has always been stupid--no shock there King J.  Or maybe I should more accurately say that Sir Charles has always said stupid things, but he generally speaks from the heart.  And what his heart is saying on this one is not entirely off base in my view.

I too am a huge King J fan.  He is absolutely the most dominating player in the game when he is hitting on all cylinders.  Kobe is still probably my pick for best player in the game (although I've liked LJ's attitude more).  However, I have found it very odd that he has been talking up 2010 when he becomes a free agent while having fiduciary duties to the Cavs and being paid a small mint.  Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks this is odd.  And yes, I think it is a little disrespectful.  Love you King J, but you should change your tone on this issue.

Lebron, shut up! You owe your fans respect and should show it. They pay to see you play, which makes you rich. You should not be thinking or talking about 2010 and your future. Right now, you should be thinking of your team and your fans in current time.

Keep on a talkin' Chuck, cause you are right!!! LeBron is being highly disresectful!

I have watched Lebron since he was in High School and have seen him many times in Cleveland.  When he was a rookie (and before he was even drafted) he would sign autographs and be decent to the fans as he exited Gund arena.  My children would miss the entire second half of the game, just waiting near the locker room in hopes of seeing Lebron after the game.  He got so arrogant he would sneak  around the opposite way of the fans to avoid any contact.  I stopped paying for season tickets when it became obvious what he was all about.  On the other hand I will watch Charles on TNT anytime.  He was entertaining as a player and still is as a commentator!!  Sir- Come to Clev.; NY - take Lebron.
